HOW DOES THIS TOUR WORK?
All tours are “Part Guided”
At each sight your guide will give you a brief description of the area, orientate you, talk to you about its history and explain its geology. You will then have FREE TIME to explore the area as you wish before moving on to the next sight.
9:00AM – Depart Weymouth Train Station
Meet and greet your guide for the day ahead on the Jurassic Coast. Your guide will explain how the day will work and go through the latest Covid safety measures.
Corfe Castle
Here you’ll be able to explore Corfe Castle and Corfe Village. The imposing castle stood at the top of the hill is a must see! Built in the 11th Century by William the Conqueror it really has a story to tell!
Lulworth Castle
This fairy-tale castle was originally built as a hunting lodge in the early C17th to entertain aristocracy and royalty and has been the family seat of the Weld family for 400 years.
Lulworth Cove
Stroll down to the perfectly formed horse shoe shaped cove formed over 10,000 years ago; try no to be distracted by the wonderful coffee shops and tea rooms on the way! Don’t forget to check out Stair Hole and Lulworth Crumple formed over 180million years ago!
Durdle Door
Wander down the slope to the famous limestone archway! Said to be the most accessible and best preserved archway in the world, it really is a site to see. Spend time rummaging for fossils on the beach cove or just take in the awe inspiring view. Its up to you!
Head back to Weymouth
Wander the golden sands of Weymouth beach or peruse the cafes and shops. Heading back through the Dorset countryside, start uploading those spectacular shots you caught to social media!
Abbotsbury
Walk the village with 17th century thatched cottages behind high pavements facing Victorian terraces built by the village’s owners.
